New ideas for neutralizing airline carbon emissions
Message from the CEO January 2017
Many airlines have implemented programs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, both by buying new engines and biofuels, but also by asking passengers to donate cash or SkyMiles to help offset carbon emissions. One program funds the planting of trees to scrub carbon from the atmosphere and many other eco-conscious ideas are being tested. HulaCar has developed a program for airlines whereby use of our electric vehicles by airline passengers during hotel stays, can be applied to carbon-offset goals. As airline SkyMiles can be spent for HulaCar rental time, the corresponding zero-emission miles driven by airline frequent flier and loyalty miles program cardholders are tracked as carbon-credits and reported by HulaCar to the participating airline carriers. Individuals participating in this program will recieve special upgrades and rewards from both HulaCar, our participating hotels and airline carriers and our Affinity Partners. Stay tuned for more news in the near future.
